2 years ago, we embarked on an incredible adventure…we moved to a farm. We have been challenged with floods and repairs and skunks (a few times) and our share of being cold, wet and dirty (most recently captured in the photo from this week with all the rain)! Our well failed and we had to fill animal troughs from a hose attached to our sink in the kitchen stretched through a window and daisy chained across the property. We have been frustrated learning and managing livestock and had cows escape…yes…they are athletes and can jump a fence!
But what has superseded all of that is the joy of working as a family, learning something new, and creating a healthier life and lifestyle through sustainable production.
We have brought horse babies and cow babies into this world. It is beautiful to watch nature at its best.
While we are not true farm to table, we produce our own eggs, beef, honey and some vegetables. Our animals are loved.
Thank you Ayla for teaching us, thank you Scott for being the best life partner, and a special thanks to all of our friends and family who have shared in this journey with us.
